About Finance Operations and Strategies
Under the general oversight of the Associate Vice President Finance and Operations, the Finance Operations and Strategies team is a multi-functional support services team delivering finance and accounting services across the campus. The finance groups mandate is to contribute towards UBC’s core values of integrity and stewardship. The Okanagan Finance team helps to provide exemplary service in a fiscally responsible way and contributes to ensuring that the Okanagan campus is a special place to learn, live, and work.
Functional support for the campus includes transactional support in the areas of Payroll, Accounts Payable, and Supply Management.
Finance adopted an integrated distributed model that enables a Finance Manager to provide financial management and oversight within an assigned portfolio, see this organizational chart. These finance professionals generally reside within the area they serve and work collaboratively with leaders and other finance managers, while directly reporting within the finance group to form a community of practice.
